Since I’m working for a company in the Bay area and I’m relocating there soon (visa permitting), I’ve decided to run an experiment on linkedin: changing my location from Venice area, Italy to San Francisco bay area.
Before that I would never receive any offer through Linkedin (though Github worked well for me in that respect), but now, I receive something betweek 2 and 5 personal emails per week.
Granted, they don’t know that I’m not looking for work and that I’m not a US citizen, but that shows how potentially easy it is to get in touch with a lot of recruiters in a very short period of time (I’ve only run the experiment for a couple months, but the trend is still the same).
I’m thinking of changing it back though, as replying to all those emails is certainly time consuming for both parts.
Is the trend the same across the US?
